Child abuse survivor needs help

Hello,

My name is Eric; I am a police officer in Iowa. 11 years ago, I responded to a severe child abuse call for service. 

The child was physically and mentally abused, neglected, and she was malnourished. I will spare you the case details.

The child is now 18 years old and is trying hard to pick up the pieces. She grew up bouncing from foster home to foster home, and she was deprived of a stable, safe and loving home. She now has a full-time job working 50 hours a week and attends community college.

She recently lost her substandard apartment and continues to fight malnourishment.

We are trying to help her get on her feet by securing her a safe and clean apartment, covering her rent for a year, and assisting her with proper nutrition.

Update:  I have been encouraged to up our goal.  We had lunch with the survivor and her overall condition is more dire than first thought.

Clothing, bedding, basic furniture toiletries, dental examination and dental work, are all needed.  She didn’t even have a tooth brush or tooth paste.   

She has nothing ! She has never been given a chance.

Update:  May 14, 2022

We have again adjusted our goal.  Overwhelming encouragement to keep this going.  Long term assistance will be needed.
