Bubba’s ear Surgery

Donations needed to help cover Bubbas ear surgery.

Every penny counts, this little boy has had a rough start to life and he’s only 2yrs old we aren’t really sure what to believe from his previous owner as none of the story that was told to us when we rescued him adds up at all! However he is now safe and is getting the medical he has needed for a while now. Bubba is going to need a very intense and very serious surgery, we aren’t sure if we will be able to save his ear where he would be able to hear again as we have to wait for the growths to be lasered off and our vet can see the ear canal and how bad the infection is. Bubba came to us in horrible condition his entire body was red and inflamed with open wounds! Not only from allergies but also a yeast infection all over his poor little body. We have already started his treatment for the yeast infection and his allergies and already in 2 days you can see a huge difference. Bubbas surgery is going to run around 1600$ if you would like to donate to help little Bubba we would truly appreciate it we wouldn’t be able to continue to rescue pups like him in need without everyone’s help. All donations will be going directly to cover all of Bubba’s medical needs.

Bubba is going to have to have a total ear canal ablation. This surgery involves the complete removal of the ear canal and tympanic bulla (middle ear), leaving only the ear flap (pinna) remaining. The ear drum and the bones of the middle ear will also be removed. This will expose the middle ear cavity, also known as the tympanic bulla. Infected material will be removed from the bulla and submitted for bacterial culture. This culture will allow identification of the infection-causing bacteria, as well as a determination of the most effective antibiotics for treatment. The bone lining the bulla will be scraped clean and the incision will be closed. An external drain may be left in place at the surgical site, in order to allow remaining fluid/material to exit the incision.
