After completing our first attempt at this gruelling challenge back in 2017 we have decided to once again enter our team for this years challenge on Saturday the 20th July, with a goal to complete the 96 km course this time in under 24 hours. Our last attempt we completed it in 28 hours minus a few toe nails and some very sore and blistered feet.
I can say on behalf of our team that the Kokoda Challenge was one of the toughest challenges both mentally and physically that I have encountered, but the feeling of accomplishment once we had crossed the line is an experience I will never forget.
We ask if you would be kind enough to help us raise money to donate to the Kokoda Youth Foundation that was set up in 2004 by Doug Henderson and his wife Anna to help youths do extraordinary things through programs they have developed including the original Kokoda experience. The program was created to instil the core values of courage, endurance, mateship and sacrifice that our Australian soldiers endured on the Kokoda track in Papua New Guinea during WWII.
