This is Sydney. Three weeks ago, she was just a normal 15 year old enjoying her sophomore year of high school. She is a sweet girl who loves to cheer and tumble. Sydney is the kind of kid that doesn't want anyone to fuss over her or inconvenience anyone. She has always been a helping hand for anyone and now Sydney is in need of help.
Last week Sydney had a brain tumor removed and is was diagnosed as Medulloblastoma a cancerous brain tumor. Having already spent many nights in the hospital, Sydney is now preparing for her journey of fighting against brain cancer.
The next step in her journey is to visit a fertility specialist in order to retrieve and freeze her eggs since the radiation/chemo treatments will ruin her eggs. None of this is covered by insurance and will result in numerous expensive medical bills. After the retrieval of her eggs, she will begin her extensive cancer treatments, which will consist of 15 months of chemo and radiation. For the first half of Sydney's treatments she will go Monday through Friday to Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, and then the second half of her treatments will be at Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.
There are going to be many expenses coming up for travel and medical bills as Sydney spends the next year of her life fighting cancer and traveling back and forth between home and treatment centers. If you are able to donate to help relieve these costly expenses I know that my sister and her family would be greatly appreciative.
We greatly appreciate any prayers and words of comfort for Sydney.
