Medical relief
On February 26, My step dad Tom was in a very serious accident, involving four tractor trailers on the 401 just outside of Cornwall.
After a very complex 2+ hours extraction with the jaws of life from his truck, He was Air lifted to Ottawa Civic Hospital and admitted to the ICU.
He has suffered multiple face and rib fractures, a lacerated liver and serve damage to his right rotator cuff.
Sedated for a week and half, set up with an assisted breathing machine.
8 days after the accident, Tom was stable enough for facial reconstructive surgery.
18 days after the accident, Tom was breathing on his own, And his Tracheotomy was removed.
Steady improvement every day, and on March 16th Tom was released from the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
We would like to Thank all the wonderful staff and Team at the Ottawa Civic Hospital in the ICU and the Trauma unit for all the care, support and love while taking such good care of my parents during their stay.
Tom is currently resting and recovering in the comfort of his own home. It's unsure at this point when he will be able to return to work.
With being on a soft food diet, Physical therapy, and the assistants he needs at home for recovery.
Now, with their significantly decreased income, We are looking for the community's support.
Thank you to everyone willing and able to help us out during this difficult time
If you are unable to donate, every share is very much appreciated
