Irish Women's Volleyball Fundraiser

Please support the National Women's Volleyball Squad as we fundraise to compete in the European Small Countries Championship and U22 European Qualifiers.

The squad has been dedicated, committed and inspiring in their training over the last 2 years, funding a rigorous campaign of preparation themselves. Although Volleyball is the fifth most popular sport worldwide, it is still a minority sport in Ireland - so we need your help as we prepare for our competitions this summer.

This year, we have the chance to compete on home soil as Ireland is set to host the European Small Countries Championship this June!

Our Senior Team of 14 players, 2 coaches and a physio will compete from the 27th to the 29th of June. We will play teams from Iceland, San Marino, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. The winners will become SCA champions.

With over half of our Senior Squad under the age of 22, the future is bright for Irish Women’s Volleyball with such great opportunities for our young athletes.

In July, our U22 team will compete in the Women’s European Qualifiers in Spain, where they will face off against Spain, Turkiye, and Norway for a spot in the European Championships. The team has been working hard since they last competed in the Qualifiers last summer and are excited to show off their progress!

Cost:

The cost for our team for the European Small Countries Championship is in the region of €10,000. The cost for our team for the U22 European Qualifiers is in the region of €14,000.

The costs include match jerseys, hotel accomodation, food, flight(for Euor Qualifier in Spain), team physio, and hall rentals for training in the lead up to both tournaments.

In addition to this GoFundMe, we are hosting a Pub Quiz on May 16th in Roddy Bolands, Rathmines (Tickets Here) and each player is seeking individual sponsorship.

More about us:

This squad was formed in March 2020. We train one weekend a month with the National team, but we are all currently playing in the National League with our clubs locally. We come from Clare, Cork, Dublin, Galway, Kildare and further afield. We work with our strength and conditioning coach every week and in combination with our specific gym programmes we are seeing great results both on and off the court.
