Medical Expenses for Brayden
Donation protected
At one month old, Brayden was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Crigler-Najjar syndrome, type 1. This condition occurs when the enzyme that normally removes bilirubin from the liver is not working properly. As a result, excess bilirubin levels cause jaundice, and possible damage to the brain, muscles and nerves. The long-term solution for Brayden was to have a liver transplant. At eight months old, Brayden was fortunate enough to receive a liver transplant on July 11, 2019 at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA), but there have been some complications on the road to recovery. Brayden has been in and out of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for several weeks under-going tests and monitoring due to significant issues such a breathing, seizures, and an undetermined infection. We are collecting funds to help pay for some of Brayden’s medical expenses with his extended stay in the PICU. We hope this will help alleviate some of the stress on his parents, so they can focus on helping Brayden get healthy enough to go back home and rejoin his 4-year-old sister (who is lucky enough to have grandparents near by helping in this time of need). Thank you for your donations, prayers, and kind words of support for Brayden and his family during this difficult time.
