For those of you that don’t know my sister, Desiree, she is the most wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. She has always been hard working, independent, full of love, humor and positivity. She is my best friend and one of my favorite people in the whole world.
Last week, Desiree, supermom of three, was suddenly diagnosed with B-Acute lymphoblastic leukemia & lymphoma and was immediately put on an aggressive chemo treatment. This comes as a huge shock, as she was feeling fine just a few days ago.
We are all so devastated by the news and feel a sense of helplessness. If the challenges of managing a family of 5 weren’t hard enough in 2020 with the COVID-19 crisis, limited income, childcare issues and virtual school for the kiddos, it looks like next year will be even more difficult for my sister, her husband and family.
Jeffrey, her husband, is doing all he can to keep it together and support Desiree and their daughters Elise (14 years old) and Ava (5 years old) and their 3-year-old son, Braden.
Because of the current COVID-19 hospital protocols and seriousness of Desiree’s situation, she is scheduled to be in the hospital for a few months, isolated from her family and friends. With Jeffrey having to stay home with their kids, their income will be very limited.
This fundraiser is to help cover basic living expenses, medical bills, and ease their financial burden in the coming months and beyond.
If you or anyone you know has been affected by cancer, you know all to well how difficult this time can be. Please consider supporting my sister and her family. Any donation will help make an impact and is greatly appreciated.
