Simon Litke was as real of a person as it gets. Serving his country in the Marine Corps, he was assigned to Echo Company, Second Battallion Fourth Marines. Nicknamed "The Magnificent Bastards" as a (0311) rifleman, team leader and squad leader. In 2004 he was deployed to Ramadi Iraq where some of the fiersest fighting occured of the war. In 2005 he was deployed to Okinawa Japan apart of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Battalion Landing Team 2/4. In 2006 he was again deployed, apart of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Battalion Landing Team 2/4. In November of 2006 orders came down and he found himself back in Ramadi Iraq, apart of the Iraqi surge. In 2007 Echo company was re assigned to Ar rutbah Iraq. He returned in 2007 and was honorably discharged to return home and continue with his life.
Simon was involved in a tragic vehicle accident in the begining of November. He was able to be kept on life support as he was a oragon donor. That is the type of person he was, always wanting and willing to help anyone in need. Even to the end.
Any donation is greatly appreciated, funds recieved will go directly to his family.
Simon was a true patriot, son, brother, friend and mentor to all he came across. He loved his country with all his heart. He has given so much, the least we can do is ensure he is layed to rest in peace.
Thank you.
