A selfless Man
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Manuelita. I am coming to this community to share my dad’s story, Donald Jacobs. About a month ago, my 65-year-old father was helping an elderly lady cut back some trees. In doing his act of kindness, the cut limb fell and hit the ladder, causing my father to fall and break his back. On April 23, 2025, he was released from the Saint Charles Hospital in Bend, Oregon, to go home. Now, he is a paraplegic and navigating through new challenges. The home is not set up for the care that he needs, and he is on a fixed income. My father has touched many lives throughout the world as he worked overseas and in his travels. He is a man of faith and has a heart for people. He has always been a man that is kind to others and willing to help those in need. He knows that God has a plan for him in his new chapter of life. This is not my father’s ending to his story; he remains in high spirits and very optimistic about his future and what it holds. He is a father, a grandfather, a husband, a mentor, and a leader. He has a difficult time asking for help.
Funds will be used for continued medical supplies, remodel the bathroom because as it is now we are unable to get him in the shower. A vehicle he is able to transfer into from his wheel chair. Cost for transportation medical, PT, urology, and follow up appointments. Living out in the country we will have to travel to Klamath Falls Oregon for health care 90 miles on way. Funds will be used to build ramps also we are looking at getting him a third wheel for his chair which will allow him to get around his property and do what he loves the most gardening.
