Brynn Lundy Family Cancer Relief
Donation protected
You are about to read the story of Brynn Lundy, (Brynn Nelson). This nightmare could be, only one doctor visit away for any of us. We are humbly asking for financial help. Keeping the household going, basic bills paid, medical expenses, final costs, and, future financial planning, for her son’s education, food on the table.
Brynn Lundy, is wife to Tom Lundy, and, mother of two boys - Jamison (13), and, Jaxson (10). Brynn has been studying, to become, a medical assistant. With only one quarter left in schooling, life threw the Lundy household, a life changing curve ball. The first curve ball the Lundy family had to endure, was Brynn losing her job, due to health issues, which were not being resolved. She had visited a chiropractor early this summer. X rays revealed, his treatment, caused a break in her ribs, and, one of her disks. Since she was in continual pain, she was not able to continue working. Her loss of employment eliminated health insurance for the family.
Another devastating health burden was to befall them… Brynn was diagnosed with STAGE IV BREAST CANCER, on Dec. 23, 2015. And, a new nightmare began, for husband, Tom Lundy, and their two young boys. Further testing revealed the cancer had metastasized, to her liver, and bones. She struggles daily with liver enzymes…which are too high, and, hemoglobin and potassium levels continuously out of range. This particular cancer is INCURABLE.
Due to the condition of her liver, full strength chemo cannot be administered as it would kill her. She is currently being treated with a low dose to try and shrink the tumors in her liver, and kill the cancer cells, in her breast and bone. At this point, the liver is the main concern for the oncologists. There is no talk of a mastectomy as the cancer has gone too far. Blood work is required three times as week. If her hemoglobin or platelets is too low, she must be taken in for transfusions. Further treatment, other than what she is currently receiving, is off the table at this time. Due to significant pain in one knee, her doctors are now going to start radiation in that area to try to alleviate some of that pain - pain which makes it very difficult to walk.
Brynn has an excellent support system in her husband, Tom Lundy, and two young sons, her mother and father, Roger and Pam Nelson, her sister, Noel Hanson, and Pam‘s sister, Toni and Brynn‘s grandpa. The Lundy, and, Nelson families combined, are lending physical, emotional, and financial help, as well as, any other type of support they can offer, in spite of the fact, they are suffering, also. She has tumors in her liver and knees. Walking and balance must be supervised as she is very weak.
To watch the love of your life, literally wither before your very eyes…. for these two boys, to have to endure watching their mother’s life ebb away before their very eyes, on a daily basis, is full of more emotional pain, than most of the most courageous of us, would ever want. And yet, the common line is, “Life goes on...” The emotional cost without the inevitable financial burden is unthinkable.
If you find it in your heart to donate to help the Lundy‘s during this difficult time, we would appreciate it deeply. Please give, as, God leads. Each of us could find ourselves, in this very situation, without warning. All funds raised, will be used for sky rocketing medical bills. The treatments are extremely expensive. There will be countless, trips and hospital stays, in the near future. Basic costs of living will increase, in child care, and transportation. Time off of work for Tom, will contribute toward an inevitable, snowball of debt. Day to day living costs will need to be met. Further down the road, final costs, as well as education for the boys, possibly family counseling, with a focus on parental loss, are all concerns of, and for this family.
All lives are touched by cancer in one way or another. Some cancers are now curable. Some can be contained in remission for years. Why these young children, why this husband, must endure this, is a question left for when we stand in the face of God. Why Brynn’s young life is to be snuffed out by this indiscriminating disease, in an excruciating way for everyone, will be answered for her, much sooner. We can do nothing more than medically possible about the disease. We are all hurting. If you can find it in your heart to help this family during this crisis, of which we could all find ourselves, we would appreciate any amount that you would be willing to give. We all would like to thank you in advance for your donation.
