Hello, we are team #14725 Java The Hutts, and we participate in an annual international robotics competition called the FIRST Tech Challenge. A new challenge is released every year, and teams must design and build a robot to efficiently complete the challenges and score the most points. FTC not only teaches participants technical skills like coding, design and engineering. but soft skills such as public speaking, marketing and teamwork.

While building and competing with robots brought us together as a team, it is living the FIRST motto of "more than robots", that has brought us together as a team. We strongly believe that working together and supporting one another can lead to better outcome for everyone. Over the past six years, we have made significant impact in our community through our dedication to STEM education, STEM advocacy and our commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion and support among robotics teams.

We have advanced to the World Championship to be held in Houston, TX, April 17 - 20, 2024. We won the overall first place Inspire Award at the Florida State Championship, which earns the top bid of the 4 allocated to Florida teams to advance to Worlds. This remarkable achievement marks our second qualification for the World Championship, having previously secured the World Champion title in April 2022. We will be competing with 223 other teams from all over the world.

The trip to Houston is estimated to cost us $20,000, and the team could use your help to fund our trip. Donations will go to paying for parts, transportation, lodging, registration fees, and other travel-related expenses. By donating to our team, you are not only helping us fund our trip to Texas for the International competition, but you are also supporting us in learning many valuable life skills.
