Hope, Faith, Fight to Win

"Hope, Faith and the Fight to Win - I humbly ask for your help.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my family and friends for all your love and encouraging words over the past few months.

As you know, back in March of this year, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.  My battle began with severe pain in my back weeks earlier.  The pain became so intense and unbearable that it required a trip to the ER, at which time I was diagnosed with Pancreatitis, or an inflamed pancreas.  I was immediately hospitalized for 10 days, strictly on IV fluids to try to decrease the inflammation to alleviate the pain and to be slowly introduced back to eating a normal diet; however, no matter what I ate, the pain increased and prompted the doctor to order another CAT scan.  The scan revealed that I had a mass, not previously seen due to the inflammation of my pancreas, that would need to be biopsied to determine whether it was cancerous or not.  The results of the scan confirmed the worse possible news, I had Pancreatic Cancer and needed an operation immediately to remove 2/3 of my pancreas and my spleen in order to remove the mass.  I was facing a 3-5 week recovery period from the surgery alone.

Upon discharge after the surgery, I ended up back in the hospital multiple times for different reasons which included an infection, the inability to eat, out of control blood sugars and high blood pressure.  My weight drastically dropped from 172 to 124 in just three short months.  For those of you who don't know, I have been an insulin dependent diabetic (12 years) which had gotten worse due to this illness.  I have finally gained enought strength to endure chemotherapy which began last Friday, July 25th.  I am scheduled for 4-6 months of chemo and possible radiation.  I have had to rely on my family for physical, emotional and financial support.

I am now reaching out to my friends for their help in seeing me through my financial hardship and asking you to donate to my fund.  No donation is too small, and your generosity is greatly appreciated.  With your help and support, I can focus on my treatment rather than the day-to-day financial stresses I have been and will be facing throughout my treatment process.

Thank you in advance and please know how fortunate I am to have such caring and supportive individuals in my life.
