Lylah Stineman was recently diagnosed with Class V dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure. Her heart is currently functioning at only 15%, and the doctors at University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital are not hopeful that it will recover on its own. Lylah will undergo a heart transplant evaluation and is expected to be listed as a 1a status, the most critical level. In the meantime, she may need open heart surgery to install an LVAD device, which would help bridge her to transplant and hopefully allow her to regain some sense of normalcy while waiting for a new heart.
Throughout this journey, Lylah and her family have been surrounded by a fantastic cardiac team at Stead, including dedicated doctors, surgeons, and nurses who have wrapped her in their care. The road ahead is uncertain and filled with challenges, but the love and support from the community mean everything to the Stineman family.
Any funds donated will go directly toward medical bills, travel expenses, and other needs that arise during this difficult time. The Stineman Family thanks you for all of your support, prayers, and well wishes as Lylah undergoes this transplant journey. Your kindness and generosity will help ease the burden and bring hope to Lylah and her loved ones.
