Bella's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
Bella was found in San Antonio, Texas abandoned with a 3.5-pound cancerous tumor in September 2022 (she's only 18 pounds total!). The great people with Central Texas Dachshund Rescue worked hard to get her the necessary surgery and medical treatment for a new chance at life. I requested to adopt her the moment I saw her, and Bella was welcomed home on December 9, 2022.

Last month, I noticed a small lump under her skin. Shortly after, I found another lump on her other side. X-rays and sample results from the vet confirmed my worst fear - soft tissue sarcomas. Bella has cancer once again.

A consultation with the Pet Specialist Oncologist revealed her course of treatment with a steep price tag. With the recommended CT scan, surgery, and chemotherapy, the total bill is over $10,000. Without treatment, her estimated survival rate is low, and her time left on earth is short.

As corny as the saying is, "Who rescued who?", the answer is obvious to me. Bella is the light of my life, and I will do anything it takes to give her the best care possible. I've never felt comfortable making a personal fundraiser. But more importantly, I could never be comfortable knowing Bella passed early or experienced any more suffering because her treatment was not affordable.

Cost Breakdown
CT Scan: $2,412.86 - $2,729.66
Surgery: $5,248
Doxorubicin Chemotherapy: $716.21 per dose (prescribed 5 doses)
Total: ~$11,329.05

If you can help support Bella's Cancer Fight, I would be eternally grateful for your support. Anything can and will make a difference. Thank you <3
