Birthdays have a reflection of the spirit of giving presents and for my birthday I would like to celebrate by giving a present to an aspiring young lady who has a dream and with my help and the help of others want to help her achieve her dream...
Last Year while in the hospital, there was a young lady who came into my room everyday to sweep and mop. As usual…I said hello and after a few days we started talking a bit. I learned that she had a dream to become a teacher. When I told her I was a teacher, she had all kinds of questions.
After coming home, I have chatted with her several times online and encouraged her to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher. She entered a teaching academy and seemed to be doing well until the virus hit. Manila has now been locked down for two months and will be closed for possibly the next 6 months. So her school is closed as are most stores and such.
I have a birthday coming up and I want to ask my friends to help me help this young lady. I have setup a GoFundMe account on FB to collect what I can on my birthday to go to her. I have never done something like this before, but I’m feeling it’s a positive step in reaching out to someone in need. I hope you might feel the same.
