Hi. We are reaching out as a close-knit group of friends from Warkworth and one of our friends, Mike, more affectionately known as Skip, needs us now more than ever.

Mike is currently going through a really tough time, and we are hoping to come together as a community to support him and his family during a very difficult time.

Mike is one of the most selfless and hardworking people we know. He’s a hard-working father of 4, loving spouse, uncle, brother, son, and friend. He’s the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need, whether it's offering a listening ear, lending a hand, or just being there when someone needs a friend, never asking for anything in return. His generosity and kind heart have made a positive impact on so many of us personally, and the community as a whole, and now it's our turn to be there for him.

On Boxing Day, Mike was in a very serious snowmobile accident. He is currently stable, after having undergone several surgeries in the past few days, from reattaching his skull to his spine, repairing a main artery in his chest, and fully repairing his hip and leg. He has stayed strong but the recovery time he is facing will place an enormous financial strain on him and his family.

Mike is never someone to ask for help, but those close to him want to assist him any way we can. The expenses of travel to and from Kingston, income gaps, and other incidentals will add up quickly, and any way we can help to alleviate additional stress on the family during this time is appreciated.

Our goal is to raise as much as we can to assist in Mike’s recovery and alleviate financial pressures. Every little bit will make a huge difference.

If you know Mike, you know how much he would hate that we are doing this. And if you know Mike, he would be the first person to think to do this sort of thing if the roles were reversed. Let’s show him the same love and support he’s always shown us. Everyone is in a position to help. If it can’t be financially, please share this and spread the word to maximize our efforts.
