Hello, my name is Grace Saavedra. I am Jake’s mom. Jake is an artist who went on a trip to Mexico City for an art tour last week, his first trip out of the country. He has faced many medical challenges in the past, so we were excited and hoping he would have the best trip of his life.

When he arrived in Mexico City, he got a high fever and had trouble breathing. After several days of treatment and no improvement, the doctors said he had to fly back immediately. He was in a life or death situation. Once he returned, he was placed in a medically induced coma on life support. We’re taking it day by day, and he will have a long recovery ahead.
