Wow! Half the people in this old family photo are gone now. I was the one taking the picture lol! We are so very acquainted with grief!
Many of you know that my brother (far left in the photo) passed away in September 2019 after a 10-year battle with breast cancer. His passing and his funeral were peaceful and blessed, and we are grateful! BUT!
We are stuck with a funeral bill! And Mama Essex Witch has been doing her best to keep our family home going all the while raising my brother’s 17-year-old daughter. She’s also self-isolating from Covid 19 at age 79 at the same time. She is a superhero! She was also the caretaker of my sister who passed from Leukemia in 2006, my dad who passed from heart failure in 2008 and her parents who both passed within 5 months of each other in 2007. My mom is the strongest woman I know!
So, let’s finally give her a break and help her out! The money will go directly to Long & Son Funeral Home of Charlotte, NC who were gracious and generous and patient with their services but who are also experiencing their own financial hardship from lockdown. Any extra amount raised beyond the goal will contribute to a plane ticket to come and visit me in the UK!

As many of you will already know, Stacey, AKA Essex Witch, who inaugurated this GoFundMe, sadly and suddenly passed on 18 June from suspected Covid-19. As always, she was seeking to help others right to the end. She would wish all her friends to to honour her life by doing something positive, and therefore we are continuing with this GoFundMe, as she would want any donations to go to this rather than in flowers that soon fade or some distant charity whose help is soon dissipated. She may have suffered more than her fair share of grief, but she always lived her life to the full and would wish this positive approach to be continued by all who knew her.
