May 18 update: Hello everyone - I know we've gone a long time without an update, but Mike has been relatively stable and there hasn't been much to report. Mike's recent scan results reported his cancer is stable. He will continue to take targeted chemo and steroids to control the effects of the chemo. He is still receiving hospice care as well.

Thanks to his medical team and the right medications to manage his symptoms, Mike has been able to be a part of several important family moments: Devin's 22nd birthday in March; his own 57th birthday in April; Madison and Makayla's 12 birthday a few weeks ago; a trip to New York, where Mike and Kelly first met and lived in their early years of marriage. When Mike was first diagnosed in August, his immediate future was very uncertain; this time with his family has been truly a miracle.

Although Mike's health has been stable, he has numerous medical needs. The medical bills are rolling in and Mike is unable to work due to the physical effects of his cancer. He is receiving disability, but it is nowhere near his previous salary. Your generosity in giving helps make up the difference in their daily bills and pay for Mike's medical needs. This helps alleviate one of Kelly and Mike's biggest concerns and takes something mentally off their plate. They can focus their attention on Mike's health and the family's emotional needs instead of worrying about how the bills will be paid.

Mike and Kelly are so appreciative of your support, in every form: texts and calls to check in, prayers, monetary, those nearby who are able to step in and help with the girls when medical appointments interrupt the school day, and more. None of it goes unnoticed and none of it is taken for granted.

September 23 update: Mike has responded really well to immunotherapy. He has been taken off hospice and is beginning radiation along with resuming immunotherapy. This is truly a miracle. God is so good!
