Hi everyone.
I have set up this page to try and help my partners best friend, a kind and lovely person, a husband, and father. Jody is just 40 years old and was first diagnosed with bowel and biliary cancer on the 7th July 2020 not long after losing his father to the disease. He has been fighting for his life ever since with set back after set back including 7 surgeries which have left him extremely susceptible to sepsis, he has now had this multiple times including September 2020 causing him to almost lose his life. In August 2020 Jody was told that he was terminally ill and given 6 months to 1 year to live. Despite this he has continued to fight and receive any treatment available to try to prolong his life. In October 2021 he almost bled to death from a massive internal haemorrhage. His condition will continue to get worse without help. We have been researching and believe he could receive better and more advanced treatment in America, this could give Jody a fighting chance.
Jody is a loving husband and a proud father to a 6-year-old little boy. His son is deaf and needs specialist help, he shares a strong bond with his son and the thought of not being there to support him and watch him grow up is incredibly painful and cannot be put into words. Therefore, we feel we must do something to try and help. Everyone who loves Jody has had to sit by and watch a once happy, strong person fade and become weaker as this awful disease took over. He has been my partners best friend since nursery, and it is so sad to watch this disease cause so much sadness and pain.
He has not once asked any of his friends for help and tries to remain positive for everyone around him. He doesn't know that this has been set this up for him. We know Jody and his family would be so grateful for any help to try and prolong his life.
Finally we just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to read about Jody, we all really appreciate any help and support.
