Help Dylan Compete at National Championships
Donation protected
I am setting up this page for a great young man who has earned the opportunity to wrestle at the very prestige United States Marine Corps National Wrestling Championships in Fargo, ND. I have known Dylan for over four years and he has absolutely been one of the best athletes I have ever coached. His dedication to himself, his team, and the sport of wrestling drives his ambition for continued improvement. Competing in this tournament would be a huge step towards him reaching his goals. Having a Wrestler from Locust Valley compete in Fargo is also a great way to continue to grow our program by showing the many opportunities this sport has. Thank you all for your time and consideration. Below please find a letter from Dylan himself.
Dear Friends,
My name is Dylan Mueller. I was recently named a member of the New York Junior Greco-Roman National Team that will be competing at the United States Marine Corps National Wrestling Championships in Fargo, ND from July 12-20.
This is the largest Olympic-style wrestling tournament in the world. Competing in this tournament is a critical step toward reaching my goals. However, I cannot do this alone. I am working hard but this will take the help of family, coaches, teammates and community to accomplish all I have set out to do.
My father has been a great support to me and a great champion of mine for my entire life, but this is a lot. The cost for me to be able to compete in this tournament is $3,500. This includes air travel to and from North Dakota, uniforms, lodging and meals for the week that I will be in Fargo, ND. Any sponsorship in the form of financial assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
A bit about who I am, for those who do not know me: I was a 4-year varsity starter, a 2-year team captain, 2-time All-County (2nd and 3rd place finishes in Section VIII), one of Newsday’s Top 100 Wrestlers on Long Island, a 4-time Locust Valley Coaches Award recipient, a National Wrestling Coaches Association/United States Marine Corps Character and Leadership All-American, All-State: New York Junior Greco-Roman Championships, a member of the New York Junior National Greco-Roman Team, a National Honor Society member, a High Honor Roll student for the entirety of my Locust Valley High School career, a 4-year starter on the Locust Valley varsity cross country team and winner of the Locust Valley High School Leadership Award.
I have committed to attending St. John Fisher University this fall as a Presidential Scholar and a member of the wrestling team.
Moreover, I have proudly wrestled for Locust Valley/Oak Neck since I was 5 years-old and I would be so honored to again represent my beloved school and community at such a prestigious event- and perhaps inspire younger Falcons wrestlers to think big and work hard.
Thank you so much.
Respectfully,
Dylan Mueller
