YWAM New Zealand

Dear family and friends,

I am excited to announce that I will be starting a new adventure in my life. I have just been accepted to Youth With A Mission’s (YWAM) New Zealand Discipleship Training School (DTS). I have been praying for this for many months, and to those of you who prayed by my side, thank you. The Lord has fulfilled His promise.

My trip will begin March 3rd and I will be returning July 22nd. I will be training and serving in Auckland, New Zealand for 3 months and then doing 2 months of outreach (likely locations: Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, or Central Asia). In addition to the discipleship training to prepare for my mission work in Auckland, I’ll also be actively serving in a YWAM coffee shop. The heart of this ministry is to spread the fragrance of Jesus through a cup of coffee. Just like it says it 2 Corinthians 2:15-16 "For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing
To the one we are an aroma that bring death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. and who is equal to such a task".

About 3 months ago I stumbled upon this specific YWAM opportunity and I knew it wasn't a coincidence. For some reason, New Zealand and Thailand have always been particularly on my heart. And I have a love for coffee-house culture and the way it brings people together and starts conversations. So when I came across this program that does its Discipleship Training in New Zealand, does missions through being a coffee barista, and does outreach in Thailand... I was floored. My dream had just been placed in my lap. I was hesitant to apply because I had one semester left before recieving my associates degree, but who am I kidding? Was I really going to let society tell me there is a set path I have to follow? I prayed about the situation, and I knew God was telling me to go. I applied and got accepted, but the leaders informed me that it might not work out because there weren’t enough applicants. I would be lying if I told you I wasn’t discouraged. There were days I was confident it would happen, and others when I thought about looking for another DTS. Through this whole journey of applying I have leanered many things, but the greatest being how good our God's promises are.

My lecture phase will cost $NZ4,300, and outreach will cost NZ$3,900-4,500. (The lecture phase cost does not include airfare, and the outreach cost does). So depending on how much my plane ticket will cost my goal may vary. The total mission, with airfare, will probably be about $8,000 US dollars.

I am so excited for how God is going to use me in this next season of my life. I have already learned so much, I can only imagaine what is in store for these next 6 months. I would love and appreciate your support whether it be financially or prayerfully.
