On her birthday in 2020 Lisa was diagnosed with Lobular Carcinoma of her right breast. As part of this unexpected diagnosis she underwent a double mastectomy with the plan to only remove 5 lymph nodes. During surgery the selected lymph nodes were tested and it was discovered the cancer spread to them. Her Doctors went ahead and removed another 17 lymph nodes and out of the 17, 4 additional lymph nodes were affected. 

Since her surgery she had to endure 16 rounds of chemotherapy, is about to start 32 consecutive days of radiation treatment and she currently continues physical therapy as she has lost some functionality in her right arm. This whole journey has been physically and emotionally exhausting. It also has been financially exhausting as her insurance is limited and only covers so many of her expenses leaving her to make up the rest. 

Her family has started this account in hopes to provide relief for her outstanding and future medical expenses while she starts the radiation process, medications, another surgery and also hormonal therapy while she eventually starts the path of the healing process.
