Blessings for Beth
Donation protected
Hi ! My name is Robyn and along with my friend Heather we are doing this fundraiser for our dear friend Beth. Here is her story - in her words, from her heart. Any and all donations will be much appreciated.
My love story started 46 years ago when I met the boy of my dreams. He was the bad ass of town and I was the cheerleader. Love grew and we were married September 24th, 1988. We have 2 boys Hayden, a recruiter for the US Navy living in Arizona. His fiancé Kailee just graduated Nursing School. Evan and his wife Kendall, have 2 children Paisley and Brantley. They live close and help around the house. Plus, grandchildren always take your mind off ALS.
John was diagnosed in 2013 with ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease), when we saw he was having difficulties with slurred speech. Quickly, John was confined to a wheelchair and we learned that we needed to make our house handicapped accessible.
From the beginning of being diagnosed I always heard ALS takes everything from you. Financially and emotionally. We cashed in John’s 401k to make ends meet.
I have been my husbands caregiver for 10 years all while working a regular job and running a side business as a Young Living Brand Partner just to make ends meet.
John was paralyzed from the neck down and only could use his eyes to type on a Tobii communicator. About 6 months ago his eyes became much weaker and his ability to communicate was extremely difficult.
John told me he was ready to start Hospice and go to Heaven.
During that 10 years I was once away from John once, for 4 days. As a spouse/caregiver you give up everything for the one you love.
After Johns long battle he peacefully went to Heaven on 9/17/2022
Now how do I carry on from living a life of caring for my husband?
Now that my life looks different without John, I’m not sure how I’m going to get back on my feet - I hate asking for help.
So many bills are coming in & the colder months are coming,
But I know, by telling my story - there are others out there that are struggling & I want to be able to help them too, by sharing our story.
But I need help first.
Any amount donated would be a help and I am grateful to all of you.
Please share our story as you wish.
So many bills coming in & colder months coming, I’m going to need some extra help.
Blessings,
Beth
