Support Communities Affected by Hurricane Helene

Hello! Help us support our communities! We all know Tennessee and North Carolina were hit hard by flooding from Hurricane Helene. Mackenzie Strong & partner Steven are making trips to pick up supplies to distribute to their local Asheville community. I met these wonderful humans while working in Wilderness Therapy with Mackenzie. She continues her work by working with both at risk youth and recovering addicts with the Pivot Point Program in Asheville, NC. (These funds are directly for the supplies of community members and has no direct link to Pivot Point. Although, it’s a great program.) They plan to make another trip to Atlanta October 11th-14th to gather as many supplies as possible to distribute to those in need. These are wonderful humans who have the ability to connect and support those in need in their area. We aren’t asking for much. Money is always a great support but donated supplies, support with delivery to the area, and even help with passing out supplies are also wonderful ways to help!

The biggest needs right now are:

WATER - clean drinking water is a rarity right now. Bottled water, empty containers (milk jugs, 2-liter bottles, any larger containers to fill up at the water distribution hubs), bleach/iodine/water filters to make water potable.

FOOD - non-perishables, protein bars, meal supplements, camping or military meals

Baby needs - diapers, baby wipes, formula, baby food, bottles

Hygiene products - pads & tampons, adult diapers, wet wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. If we could get some portable showers that would be incredible, but that’s a big ask.

Fuel - gas is hard to get access to right now, so gas cans and gas are needed for people who have access to transportation and need to evacuate.

Clothing and comfort items will be the next step, but right now they’re still doing search and rescue and trying to get basic needs met.
