Hello my name is Ric Serrano III and on September 3rd, 2025 I walked in to Tiny Bubbles Laundromat in Liverpool, New York. At this time I witnessed the owner of the laundromat cursing out and disrespecting his employee Pete from Trinidad. I have been attending this laundromat for 2 years and Pete has been the bright spot of this place. From the cleanliness, the laundry advice, to the friendly face I saw once a week that I would chat with while my clothes were being washed. Apparently the machines glitched after Pete reset the machines and it was costing the owner money. Pete was told to do such. I was hesitant to say anything and decided I wasn’t. The owner was leaving and said “have a good evening”. Me being upset I ignored the owner. The owner got closer to me and said “I said have a good evening”. I told the owner “sir I have nothing nice to say to you, please just leave”. That is when the owner got angry and I expressed how it wasn’t ok to speak to his employees that way especially in front of children and other customers. There was a back and forth argument where the owner said things like “I can speak to him whatever way I want”, “it’s none of your business” and so on. This was all recorded on video for over 10 minutes and ended with the owner calling the cops. The video is posted on Tik Tok as well as Facebook. The cops gave me a recommendation on different laundromats I can go to. It has been over 2 weeks since this happened and since then Pete’s hours have been cut down from 25 hours to 9 hours. He has also been cursed at and told not to speak to any customers just do your job and get out. Pete has been dealing with this abuse from the owner for years, it’s just now that it’s out for the public to see. Pete did nothing wrong and his hours being cut to nearly nothing is forcing him to quit. I want to help him out for not only the abuse he has dealt with but also for the financial bind he now finds himself in.
