My name is Carae, and my best friends name is Luna. She has been with me for 10 years, and recently I discovered a lump on her belly. After having blood work and an initial biopsy of the lump performed (totaling $1,100 out of pocket so far), today we learned from her vet that she has malignant carcinoma.

She will first need chest radiographs and/or lymph node biopsy to determine the spread of the cancer - from there, the doctor will be able to tell us whether surgery is the best option, or if it has spread too far and we will need to take other steps to help eradicate the cancer and give her a good quality of life while I still have time with her.

Luna is best known for always having a bottle or a ball in her mouth, at all times. Even as she was getting her blood drawn and the first biopsy done, the vet said usually they would have to muzzle a dog for that process - Luna just kept her ball in her mouth and was the best girl.

If you are able to help, I would be forever grateful for your assistance. She is so happy, loving, and such a bright presence, and any amount of time I can keep with her will mean the absolute world to me. I truly struggle for asking for help with anything that has to do with me personally, but for her, I will do anything to make sure I can try and get her the care she needs.
