Save Bambi: Urgent Surgery Needed

As a self-proclaimed cat person, I never imagined my heart could belong so completely to a dog until I met Bambi. In late November, she found her way into my life—a tiny, fragile soul who had been overlooked time and time again because of a diaphragmatic hernia she was born with. The shelter told me that finding her a home was difficult due to her condition, and I made a decision in that moment: if she was going to leave this world, she would do so knowing love.

Since then, Bambi has given love back in a way I’ve never seen before. She doesn’t just wag her tail—she melts into you. She wraps her paws around your leg in a hug, rests her forehead against you, and holds you there as if to say, Thank you. I love you. Every person she meets falls for her. She adores her toys, lives for cuddles, and has a spirit too big for the body that has fought against her from the very start.

On the morning of February 26th, she underwent surgery to repair her hernia—a procedure meant to give her the life she so desperately deserves. But as the hours passed, it became clear that complications had set in, leading to a life-threatening condition called compartment syndrome. Now, she needs emergency surgery. This is her only chance to survive.

The shelter covered the cost of her first procedure, but they can’t afford this unexpected second one. And so, I told the vets: Do it. I don’t care how much it takes. I will find a way to make this happen for her, but I need your help.

Bambi is a fighter. She has fought since the day she was born. And now, I am fighting for her.
