Help Mike heal and cope with medical costs

Hello everyone, I'm fundraising for Mike Draper, who unexpectedly fell while cleaning a roof.

 

During cleaning a roof Mike went to use an extension ladder to get down, the anchor for the extension released, and Mike and the ladder fell. His foot slowed the fall by getting caught in between the rungs of the ladder. Both the fibula and tibia of his right leg were totally exposed while his detached foot (still inside his shoe) was sitting upright on the deck below the exposed bone. Mike was rushed to the hospital and underwent 2 surgeries during his 4-day hospital stay. The 1st surgery was to clean and flush the wound, reconnect the foot, and reform the ankle joint.. The 2nd surgery was to add plates and screws to keep things together, and soft tissue work. There may be additional surgeries needed to get him back to normal.

Mike is currently recovering at home. Like so many others, the Covid pandemic significantly damaged his business of working with the elderly and those with age-related impairments (especially osteoporosis). He’s unable to continue his work for an extended period of time, perhaps as much as 8 months. Unfortunately, at the time of the accident, he was uninsured and that means all injury-related bills and current living expenses are starting to pile up.
