"I'D RATHER DIE" - AN OFFICE COWBOY PRODUCTION

AN OFFICE COWBOY PRODUCTION. A NEW FILM BY KAILEE SHEDEED. STARRING MORGAN O'SULLIVAN.

THE STORY:

Under pressure to deliver a new hit album, a rockstar believes there is a conspiracy against them on their 27th birthday. Stylistically influenced by 70's cinema and 90's punk bands, this film aims to explore the chasm between the person we are and the person people want us to be.

THE WHY:

In 2022, Office Cowboy Productions produced a short film titled Ersatz--a film that was funded entirely by people like you! The experience of making that film was so incredible and positive, and the finished product was both everything we had dreamed it would be and beyond anything we had hoped for. Ersatz has now gone on to garner awards at film festivals around the world, and the success of that movie has encouraged us to continue with our dreams and create the next film. We learned so much from making that movie and our hope is to make a film that is even BETTER. A bigger script, a bigger budget, a bigger vision, with the same amazing team. We believe in this story, and hope that it can resonate with an audience that believes in this story too.

THE BUDGET:

Our hope is to raise $15,000 for this project. This would cover the costs of 3 filming locations, a film permit, insurance for the production, equipment (such as the camera, lenses, video village, lighting, etc.), set design, costumes, and making sure our amazing crew is fed and compensated for their hard work. Additionally, we are including in this budget an allotment for post-production, sound design, and festival submission fees. Every dollar counts and every donation helps contribute to the final quality (and success) of this film.

THE TEAM:

Office Cowboy Productions is extraordinarily lucky to have a great team backing this film and we are eager to work together again and create something new!

This film is an original script by Kailee Shedeed, and will be directed by her as her third short film. The incredible Morgan O’Sullivan, star of award winning short film Frankie and the upcoming Not Us, will be portraying the film’s lead. This film is produced by Kailee Shedeed, Gabbie Sundberg and CJ Phillips, who have experience in the producing field in film, television, and commercials. Maggie Sotter will be returning from Ersatz as the film’s First Assistant Director. Also returning from Ersatz is production designer Robert Easthope and composer Keenen Knott, featuring original songs by Keenen Knott.

WHY WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU:

One thing that will always remain true about filmmaking is that you can’t do it alone. The film industry by and large is currently fighting against studios and technology to keep human creativity alive, to keep original storytelling and concepts vital to our world. Supporting our film contributes not only to the hopes and dreams of our team, but also to the hope that we have in independent cinema! To tell unconventional stories you have to do things unconventionally, and ask for the people around you to believe in that vision with you!
