Dan Sandifer's Children's Fund

As many of you know we lost one of our best recently. Dan Sandifer died on January 11, 2016. He and his wife Gwen and their three girls Lily, Chloe and Emmie were living in Beijing China. Dan was serving as a counselor at the Yew Chung International School there. Dan and his family had previously lived in Beijing when he was the pastor of the Congregation of the Good Shepherd Church from 2006 - 2010. Dan had also served in various ministry roles in Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina and teaching roles in Oregon and Alabama.
We all knew Dan from different chapters in our lives and in his life. Some of us knew Dan at Baylor where we were in Chamber or other activities together. Others knew Dan from graduate school at Virginia Tech and at Southern Seminary. Yet others knew Dan in his various ministry roles. We're sure others knew Dan as a caring friend or neighbor. One thing we do know is that no one who knew Dan will ever forget him. His sense of humor was legendary. His sweet caring nature was as well. Dan touched lives every day.
Dan's girls are 16, 14 and 11 years old. While we remember Dan through all of the different seasons that we knew him, let us also remember Gwen and these girls. This campaign won't bring Dan back but it will make planning a little easier for Gwen as she thinks about the future.
Our hope in starting this campaign is to make a significant start toward an education fund for Lily, Chloe and Emmie. We want to dream big here in order to help provide for an educational future for Dan's girls.
Many of of us have seen the many tributes to Dan these last days from all of the seasons of his life. Let us all remember those kind words or hospitality that Dan provided when we needed it. Let's remember that smile the last time we saw him. Everyone who had the joy of knowing Dan is blessed.
