Memorial Fund for My Mom
Donation protected
This morning my beautiful mom, Cathy Avers, was found unconscious in the garage by a family friend dropping off their kiddo at daycare. It appeared she had fallen unconscious while out in the garage grabbing something, and despite the best of efforts of medical personnel, she was unable to be revived. That’s all we currently know.
My mom was 60 years old and in just a few days would be moving with my stepdad down to Carmel, IN to less than a mile from me. Last night she told me how excited she was to be near me, walk my dog, and even cook dinners at our new house that she hadn’t seen yet.
None of this feels real & I can tell this is going to be the hardest thing I’ll ever going through. She will never see me graduate law school, be at my wedding, or meet my kids. I’ll miss her every single day till I see her again, and I can’t wait till I get to hug her again and tell her how brighter my life is when she’s in it.
Until then, I want to make sure we handle all arrangements the right way she deserves, and possibly hold something to celebrate her with the many, many people who loved her from across the US. I don’t know what that costs because I’ve never planned a funeral myself so I’m just guessing.
For anyone interested in the future potential service, I will post updates to this and my Facebook.
Thank you.
