Hello, my name is Kayla and I am raising money for a coworker. Maria came to America as a refugee from Nicaragua, and was allowed to stay and work in the United States until recently. Her visa expired, and she was not allowed to renew. The government has given her an option to self-deport in hopes that she may enter the country legally in the future. Maria has very little family and does not have the means to make it home. I have known Maria for just a short amount of time, but she is one of the kindest people I know.
