The Ocean Institute, nestled between the Dana Point Harbor and the Pacific Ocean in Southern California’s City of Dana Point, inspires nearly 100,000 students and public visitors annually with its mission of using the ocean as the classroom to inspire children and families to learn. Serving the broad community since 1977, the Ocean Institute is home to brig Pilgrim

Since 1981, the Ocean Institute has showcased Pilgrim
as a unique and effective floating educational platform for learners of all ages. Over 300,000 K-12 students from all walks of life have had the opportunity to step back in time and live the life of a sailor in the 1830s. Students spend the night on Pilgrim
participating in a powerful, hands-on program where they master crucial leadership, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills and experience history well beyond the four walls of any on-land classroom.

WE NEED YOU! If Pilgrim
