Jessica Perry's fight with cancer

Our 15 year old daughter Jessica Perry who is a grade 10 student at Charlottetown Rural was very recently diagnosed with classic Hodgkin lymphoma stage 2. This is a type of cancer that started in her lymph nodes. The IWK will be treating Jessica with four rounds of chemo. We will be travelling back and fourth from the IWK a lot over the next while and because of this we are in need of finicial help. I was able to get $70 a night put towards a room. I was also given some coverage for bridge , gas , food, and parking . I recently discovered that the amount given does not cover everything realisticly as I had to come up with more money to cover costs. We were stuck in bad weather the other day for instance and had zero coverage for a room that night as we were on our way home. That night alone cost over $200 as we went to the closest place . I still had to fill my tank of gas just to get back home from money that was not covered. I get this coverage from finicial assistance . We cannot stay at the Ronald McDonald house as we are having to be very careful that Jessica doesn't get sick from anyone who may have colds or flu. We also need help with the gas at home as my husband is running the other three kids around with the truck that is hard on gas as we need the van in Halifax. We are trying to focus on her health and her getting better however the finicial stress is a clear focus as well. We will also be looking at a wig for Jessica as we were told that she will most likely loose her hair. To give an idea of parking . It will cost $70 for the week to stay at a lodge plus it's $14 at the iwk for the day. Wi-Fi is another $10 per day at the lodge . No fridge in it either , no microwave , not even a kettle . Up until this point we have kept very quiet about Jessica's diagnoses as we are trying to wrap our heads around all this and come to terms with it . We fully believe she will be okay and will kick cancers butt! Please respect Jessica's privacy at this time as this is a lot right now . Thank you for your help. We are unsure if other costs will come up that we are unable to cover however we would like to be prepared for them . Here is a little about Jessica. Jessica has a future goal of becoming a doctor. She is involved in band and is in French Immersion . She is a very strong student and we are so proud of her . She is very loving , caring, and has a huge heart .
