Assist Alison (Poss) Maher to buy a Bariatric chair

Hi, my name is Darren and I am supporting my sister Alison through some serious medical issues.

Alison was born with a rare genetic metabolic condition called Argininosuccinic Aciduria (ASA) which causes ammonia to accumulate in the blood and restricts your body's breakdown of protein. It requires lifelong medication, has many complications and sees very few people live into adulthood.

Against the odds Alison is now 47 years old and has the resiliency and determination to face each obstacle with a 'can do' attitude that most of us could only dream about. Notwithstanding her positive attitude, Alison has developed some complex needs affecting her independence. Unfortunately severe lower leg lymphedema is one issue proving challenging to treat, resulting in severe difficulties in her everyday life. Her medical team have recommended she purchase a Bariatric recliner with leg elevation capabilities to manage lymphoedema effectively while seated. This in turn will greatly improve her mobility issues enabling a greater chance of full recovery. Unfortunately, the cost of these specialised chairs at $10,000 is beyond her financial means. Any donation that you can provide would be truly appreciated in what will be a life changing purchase for her.

Alison has been working towards her goal of completing her Bachelor of Social Work. She is excited at the prospect of getting back to her studies and keep barracking for her footy team. Go Roos !
