Help Julie fight Cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone, Chris here, the husband to Julie for 23 years.
In late August, we heard those words that no one ever wants to hear. You have cancer; Julie had been having trouble breathing. Her doctor took x-rays and saw fluid filling her right lung. We went to the hospital to have it drained. While we were there, they did other tests to confirm all the fluid had been drained. That is when they noticed the dark masses in her lower abdomen. From there, it was a whirlwind of a ride to get tests done to confirm findings and start a treatment plan.
We found out she has ovarian cancer that has spread to the omentum. Julie has had two chemotherapy appointments. There is one more for December; after the recovery period from that treatment, she will have surgery and three more cycles of Chemotherapy.
Julie works as a Special Education Paraeducator for the local school system but has had to take an extended leave of absence from her job. She does not have the energy to be able to do the job. Also, we want to keep her healthy with the compromised immune system, so she is around to help care for our two teenage boys. Our oldest is on the spectrum for autism but will graduate from High School this year. The other son is in 8th grade and ready to attend high school to play football.
With Julie taking the leave of absence, our income has taken a hit, and we could use help with medical and personal bills so that some weight is taken off of our family’s shoulders.
