Justice for Aubrey

I just can't imagine! Going into a church for children's choir practice and being attacked for the shoes on your feet!
On Wednesday, November 20, 2019, Aubrey Zalar (age19) was dropping three children she nanny's for off at a church choir practice.  All seemed normal as she entered the Fairmount Presbyterian church.  Moment after enter the church a women approached Aubrey from behind and stabbed her in the side.  Aubrey turned to the woman, telling her to stop.  The women then proceeded to stab Aubrey two more times in her left arm.  Once near the shoulder, and once in the forearm.
This is not Aubrey's normal place of worship, it was her first time there, and she never met the attacker before.  It was a total random act of violence because Aubrey's boots were perceived to be fur.  If this does not seem believable, here  is a link to an article.https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/crime/faux-fur-boot-stabbing-suspect-court-apperance/95-e9547c84-d087-4e28-9406-3b6831e582b7
Aubrey required emergency surgery for her wounds that night and risked losing her dominant arm.  Aubrey is an Art therapy major and these wounds are life changing.  Damage was done to the nerves, arteries, veins and muscles in her left arm. A vascular and orthopedic doctor spent serval hours repairing the damage done from the stabbings.

Thank you to the amazing doctors, anesthesiologists, and nurses for your amazing work! Thank you for all the good Samaritans who assisted Aubrey at the church, Ellen who rode with Aubrey to the hospital, and Stephanie who stayed with Aubrey and her parents most of the night.

In three to four months, we will have a better idea of if Aubrey will regain full function of her dominant hand.  At this point, doctors say it could be 8-12 MONTHS for the damaged nerve to regrow, IF the surgery worked.  If the first surgery was not successful, there are other options, but those would only allow limited motion.  Pry the first surgery was successful!!! Pray for a full recovery! - This is her livelihood as a artist and Art Therapy Major.

Now Aubrey's family is looking at thousands of dollars in medical bills that no one could ever have anticipated, even after insurance.

To make matters worse, Aubrey's mom (JP) was admitted to the hospital on Thanksgiving Day with symptoms of a confirmed stroke.  Several weeks later, she still has weakness on the right side and a facial droop.  She was already recovering from a concussion this summer, and this just adds insult to injury.

This family needs some help! Our goal is to take some of the financial worry off their shoulders by raising money for medical and legal fees.  They are the first ones in line to help others, (including my family) so let's help them in this time of need!
