Help Emma

This new Regimen C. started last Monday July 6th.
Emma has come a long ways and yet, still has so far to go before she's in the clear. She has been admitted into the hospital twice in the past two weeks after having spiked a fever.(something that is typical with treatment) We are so thankful to all those who have donated in her behalf. I'm asking you to please continue sharing this link and get the word out there. So many prayers have been answered and we, as a family are truly grateful for God's love and tender mercies.
God bless,
The Farmer's

Update June 5,2020 What a happy week for our family! It's now been 14 days since hearing a word that will forever change our family. For 11 days, to include 5 in the ICU , we took daily shifts at Emma's bedside while her medical team stabilized her and began nearly immediate doses of chemotherapy. When you watch transfusion after transfusion saving the life of your little girl, a new appreciation for those who have donated blood products distills upon you. Likewise, the medical equipment/team monitoring and administering lifesaving treatment become miracle studded agents of hope and confidence. We got to drive home with her Tuesday evening and begin settling into our new normal with an intensive medication regimen and lifestyle restrictions. She will have 2-3 appointments each week for various monitoring/treatments/tests. Transfusions likely at least once a week to raise platelets. It's alot, but as we see it, we have had 14 days that we didn't know we'd have 14 days ago. In truth, the days are not filled with smiles and laughs but we have miraculously had them and treasure them when they happen. We do not know what the future will bring but feel 'all is well' regardless. We are hopeful and strengthened through our prayers and the prayers of all those who have joined with us in faith. We don't expect any quick changes for the next several weeks as we embrace this new norm so I don't think I'll send an update until the first major review/assessment happens about three weeks from now. If something drastic occurs, I'll amend that. In the mean time, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She is certainly not 'out of the the woods' on this yet. Though, we do feel encouraged that this initial phase has moved forward as it has without any major setbacks. I want to genuinely thank you all for your support and love. It's been quite unbelievable, really! We haven't had to prepare a meal once in two weeks, except for her requested homecoming meal. Our military/church families have really stepped up and it's so appreciated. Our family back on the West Coast even went so far as to set up a GoFundMe for Emma for which I have not words to describe the support shown by so many, some of whom we don't even personally know. It's an incredible experience thus far. And, though, we would never wish this on anyone, we have enjoyed moments of joy, perspective, hope and closeness that I wouldn't trade. With Love, The Farmers 12 days ago, my youngest brother, who is enlisted in the United States Air Force (16 yr veteran) and his wife of 19 yrs was informed by the doctors that their 8 yr old daughter Emma has Leukemia. I am here to ask for help in raising money in their behalf. Miss Emma is going to need a wig or two within the next couple of weeks due to the chemotherapy. Along with money for fuel for the many many trips to and from the hospital for treatments... Not to mention the medical care costs. I can't even begin to imagine that cost alone. Here are my brothers words about this from May 23, 2020 Family and friends, I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting further news about our sweet Emma and a great many more are not even aware that she has not been well. I will try to be as brief as possible. She has been struggling with aches, pains, pneumonia, chronic fevers and a misdiagnosis of 'Mono' for nearly 2 months. After several ER visits, and a very unexpected turn of events, we find ourselves in the Pediatric ICU ward of Addenbrookes hospital here in Cambridge, UK. Ultimately, she was finally properly diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I won't lie; she is in bad shape. Our fears were confirmed with her oncologist soberly informing us that she had just days left without immediate treatment. This was as of yesterday morning. One look at her made that an obvious reality. Probably needless to say, we elected to proceed with the proposed treatment plan which involves in brief: 9 days minimum here in the PICU which will likely be filled with many very uncertain days. Following, will be a 2 yr treatment plan, and, if all goes well..... The good news: Better than 90% of children not only survive this kind of cancer but end up being completely cured with no significant long term effects. If we can get through this next few weeks, we expect this will be our report. However, there are many long days ahead just to get through this initial recovery push. She is so strong and our family is with her every step of the way. She has a wonderful medical team doing everything in their power. As such, we are hopeful for her. I know many of you will have questions/comments that we may or may not even be able to answer/respond to. Please understand the difficulty in this endeavor and don't feel slighted if you don't get a personal response. We are so grateful for your concern. We believe in the power of prayer alongside good medical professionals and we solicit everyone's prayers in her behalf. We love you. Thank you. Farmers If you are unable to donate please share this post to help spread the word and we welcome all to pray on Miss Emma's behalf
