Ted and Robyn Fisher need our help !

Let’s help an unsung hero take the time he needs to heal up without financial burdens !

I have been a lifelong friend of dear Robyn and then her husband Ted when she met him in high school. High school sweethearts who have raised 4 beautiful children and are honestly just the most beautiful people I have ever met & they need our help. Ted is a helicopter pilot & has been working the most hours he’s worked in his 25 year career with the devastating wildfire season BC has seen in the last few months.

Ted was on his 2nd day off in more than 25 days of long hard dangerous days of flying. Ted was in a pretty serious motorcycle accident on Saturday night (Aug 14th) when he was on his way home from Troll he hit a moose. Robyn and Ted were travelling together and she was minutes behind him in the truck. Once she came around a corner she swerved to miss hitting an injured moose on the road and then quickly had to swerve to miss running over her Ted ! Obviously in shock & powerless she knew she couldn’t move him & she couldn’t tell if he was breathing through his armoured jacket & helmet.

Ted is currently in Vancouver & has had spinal surgery, he does have full mobility in his arms and legs, thankfully. He has broken orbital bones, broken ribs, broken right hand, a small brain bleed, broken sternum. They fused T1-T6 during spinal surgery. They are watching for clots & bleeds & for now he is all pinned & plated together. There is a large blood clot forming behind his right eye, doctors aren’t sure if it’s from a torn eye muscle or his fractured skull or brain bleed. He has two floating pieces of skull, the plastic surgeon sees him tomorrow to make sure it isn’t the bones pressing the eye down and forward causing the development of his double vision.

Ted has been the main breadwinner for the family from day 1 - don’t get me wrong Robyn works her booty off and keeps the ship sailing straight they are honesty quite the team! More recently Robyn has been decorating for events & let’s be honest we all know how that’s been going since Covid. They just need some help to get them through this tough time & help Ted recover properly & not be worried about getting back to work like he already tried too say he needed to do !! They haven’t gotten any recovery dates or times from the spinal surgeon yet, but it could be a long road ahead for this team.

Ted is still smiling and cracking his beloved terrible jokes !!

If you can’t help financially please share this post & know that this is scary & hard for everyone involved.
