Adrienne's Ankle Repair Fund

Donation protected
Less than a month after moving into a new house, my wife and the mother to our four kids - two biological sons and two adopted daughters - was visiting her parents, in South Dakota, to celebrate their 40th anniversary. While on the trip, Adrienne - that my wife's name - took the kids and went to eastern Montana to see her uncle and the ranch where her mom grew up. While there they decided to ride horses. The last person to ride was my wife and she fell off the horse while returning to the barn - it was a freak riding accident.

When she hit the ground her full weight landed on her right ankle. She dislocated it and broke 3 bones. She was about an hour and half from the closest hospital and had to meet the ambulance half way to the hospital.

When she finally got to the hospital she was told they couldn't fix it in South Dakota and she would have to return home to San Antonio, Texas to await surgery. That meant I had to fly up there and drive her and the kids back with her mom because she had driven there.

When we finally got to see a doctor here in Texas it had been over a week since the accident. She will be having surgery almost 2 weeks after the accident because the swelling was so severe it needed to go down before they could operate.

She will be unable to work until the surgery takes place and possibly longer. She will be unable to put any weight on her leg for at least 3 months after the surgery and we have no idea what physical therapy will look like down the road.

It is going to be a long road to full recovery, as we won't even know if the surgery was completely successful for almost a year.

Many of our friends and family all over the country have asked what they can do to help this great mom, wife, and friend during this time of pain and need, so we decided to start this to give you an outlet to help if you would like. Our four kids will all be at different schools this year, and it's going to be tough for Adrienne to keep up with them, but we know that with everyone pitching in, we'll get through this with your help. Thank you so much!
