If you've met Sue Negowski you probably have a story about how she helped you out, volunteered to help your cause, or cooked you the best meal you’ve ever had. She's been so giving to so many and now she really needs our help.
Last week Aunt Sue went to the doctor after experiencing severe foot pain. She had exhausted all of her time off at work hoping that her foot would heal itself. She went to the ER and was immediately admitted to the hospital. She found out that her foot was broken and she had an infection. They started antibiotics hoping to clear the infection before it got any worse. Her recovery requires that she not put any weight on her foot for two months. She will not be able to drive, work, or pay bills while she recovers. She will be transferred to a rehab facility for at least two months following her 2-week hospital stay. She moved to Florida for work and doesn't live close to any family members so she really could use some financial help, love, and prayers.
As a kid I would visit my Aunt’s house and marvel at an entire room of volunteer awards, plaques, and trophies. Many were for the Red Cross, others were for other local charities, and several were for church related activities. I asked my mom why my Aunt had so many awards.
“She likes to help people” she said.
“But what does she get from it?” I asked.
“Nothing, she just wants to help others who need it.”
It wasn’t until years later that I understood the sacrifice that my Aunt had made for others. Whether it was making sure all 6 of her nieces and nephews had a really special time at Christmas, opening loads of presents together, or when she recruited my entire family to volunteer at the mall for the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day telethon. There are countless times she has volunteered to use her skills as a chef to handle food at an event when the host didn’t know what to do. She even sacrificed her own needs and became the legal guardian of her blind best friend—handling her medications, doctors’ appointments, and basic day to day needs until she passed.
Please consider donating to this amazing woman to lessen her burden of the pending medical bills while she is unable to work. Please feel free to share this as well. Thank you!
