Hi, my name is Quinn Ignisaban. I am 28 years old, married, and have a beautiful two year old daughter. For the past 6 years I have been blessed to work as an EMT and share my experiences through teaching CPR. I wish it were possible to just work as an EMT the rest of my career, but the pay scale is less than minimum wage. Throughout my EMT career I was always wishing I can do more to help people, but because an EMT scope of practice is so minimal, it is impossible for me to do so. I have met, and talked to, a lot of paramedics who absolutely love what they can do to help people. Becoming a paramadic has been a goal of mine to help expand my scope of practice, and to have a better paying job to support my family. I have been trying to get financial aid from our government to help me get to school but have been denied several times. The paramedic program is $10,000 and about $700 for books and uniforms. The reason I am asking for help is because paramedic programs are a huge commitment from beginning to end. You have to put a lot of hours into studying and it is really hard to have a full time job. Which makes it hard to pay for school and other finances.
I have a huge passion for the EMS field and feel that I can really give back to people with the knowledge I will be gaining as a Paramedic.
Thanks for taking the time to read my story. Anything helps!
