Please help save Artwear!

We are making this appeal as dedicated employees of Artwear. Gerry, the owner is not someone who likes to ask for help. We care about Gerry and her business very much, and we want to help her. She has been able to successfully manage and grow a thriving business for almost 14 years. Last year there was a major roadway construction project in town that had a large presence on our block. Starting in March and for 8 months or so customers couldn’t park or were deterred by unpaved sidewalks, cones and barrels.

The nature of a store like Artwear is that inventory needs to be ordered 6 months to a year in advance and then is manufactured for the store. We know that Gerry ordered far less inventory with the construction in mind but she couldn’t have planned for the delays and the length of time the block was occupied. Business suffered the entire year.

Gerry has nursed Artwear along trying to boost sales with emails, events, clearance sales and promotions, as well as canceling many orders this year. Just recently she shared with us that she has exhausted her funds and won’t be able to keep Artwear open much longer.

The store means everything to Gerry and many people think of Artwear as a very special place. Gerry has created a store where women feel comfortable and know that we will be helpful and honest. Our clothing and accessories are unique and well made at affordable prices. We are dedicated to providing our wonderful customers the best shopping experience we can. Gerry has also supported the community for years, giving donations of gift cards or clothing to many local causes.
She has given local high school and college-age girls opportunities to work and learn at Artwear.
