The United Caribbean Islands is a Student run Caribbean Club at York University, Toronto, Canada. We represent Caribbean youth across campus and Canada, raising awareness about Caribbean issues and uniting a network of Caribbean students.
The United Caribbean Islands (UCI) at York University is partnering with @reclaimrebuildegwest to coordinate a Hurricane Relief Fund in response to Hurricane Melissa, which will deeply impact communities across Jamaica and neighboring islands.
Throughout this week, we will be fundraising and collecting donations to support Red Cross Jamaica as they provide essential aid, shelter, and resources to those affected. The funds donated will be used to purchase necessary aid to pack in barrels that will be delivered to Jamaica. Your funds go towards basic medical aid, hygiene products, cleaning products and non perishables that will be hand packed by our team of volunteers and shipped directly to communities in need. Many of our friends, families, and loved ones back home are in urgent need of assistance, and together, we can make a difference.
Your contribution—no matter the amount—will go directly toward helping rebuild lives and restore hope in the wake of this devastating storm.
We appreciate your generosity and solidarity during this time. Let’s come together as one united Caribbean region to support those in need.
