Support for Sam and Adam in Their Time of Loss

Hi, my name is Amy Yeomans, and I am a close friend of Samantha and Adam Mahar. I am setting up this GoFundMe to support the Mahar family as they navigate this unimaginable tragedy.

For those who may not know their story, Sam and Adam welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Evelyn, into the world in October 2024. From the moment she was born, Evelyn faced severe medical complications, and her parents remained by her side at the IWK, giving her all their love and strength.

Yesterday, at around 12:30 PM, Evelyn lost her fight against those complications while cuddled up with her mommy, Sam, surrounded by love. Their hearts are shattered, and while we cannot take away their pain, we want to help ease their financial burden.

We are raising funds to assist Adam and Sam with expenses that have arisen through this tragedy and helping this family get through this period of time while EI decides which benefits Sam should be receiving (as she doesn’t qualify for maternity leave anymore, and she used sick leave before Evelyn was born because it was a difficult pregnancy) Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly to Sam and Adam during this incredibly difficult time.
