Cancer Surgery

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,

This is something we thought we would never have to do. We are asking for help for my mother April Magallanes.
As in typical fashion, my mom has kept this quiet as she doesn’t like to share her pain or ask for help. A lot of you don’t know that April recently had a nodule located in her thyroid, she also had a Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy that came back positive for Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. While according to doctors if you were to get cancer thai is the one to get, no one wants it. April is scheduled to have a total thyroidectomy. While according to her surgeon is a relatively simple surgery it is very delicate as it involves nerves and her vocal cords. This has been a very quick diagnosis and scheduled surgery. We are less than a month from diagnosis and a week out from her surgery. Due to the delicate nature of the surgery she will be spending a day in the hospital and will be at home recovering for approximately 3 weeks. We know our God is a BIG God and just as he has in the past will see April and our family through this, as he has already shown. We are grateful her surgery will be local so there will be no travel involved, but the cost of surgery along with a hospital stay as well as loss of income for Joe while he takes care of her is something very unexpected and a tad worrisome. We want them to be able to focus on a quick and healthy recovery without worrying about hospital bills as well as other bill during this time. The generosity and care shown through donations and spreading awareness will help assist with a quick recovery.

Those of you that know April, know she is always willingly to help out and give of herself, whether in her family, in the community or at work at Organ Mountain High School. She shows that daily with the love and support she gives her family daily and with her Coaching of the Silverettes or her involvement in Student Council or involvement in other activites and volunteering as needed. Her dedication to the students in her school is unmeasured, as is her kindness, and giving heart.

If you fill led please donate what you can whether $1 or $100. Financial assistance can alleviate some of the burdens that often accompany medical treatments, allowing April to focus on her health and well-being without additional stress. If you are unable to donate, emotional support and encouragement are just as important in her recovery. Prayers are always needed. Join us in believing for her total healing and a quick recovery for April, and peace for the family at this time.
