Help With an Unexpected HMRC Tax Bill

I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this, but an unexpected tax bill has left me with very few options.

Last year, I took extra money from my pension pot to help two of my children get onto the property ladder. Like many parents, I simply wanted to help them secure a stable future. It was done out of love and with the best intentions.

What I didn’t realise at the time was that withdrawing this money would trigger a substantial tax charge. I’ve now been told I need to repay £7,650 to HMRC, and the bill has come as a complete shock. I genuinely did not understand the tax implications and would never have made this decision had I known the consequences.

This has been extremely stressful and has put a real strain on me and my family. I’m doing everything I can to deal with it, but the amount is overwhelming, which is why I’m asking for support.
