Went to Heaven December 9, 2025
A friend came by my home with a canine who needed to be adopted. I had just lost my rescue, Leo. I was distressed by his loss, and now another dog in need. I did adopt him, and then our journey began.
Buster, a Chihuahua and terrier mix was tough, sweet and independently minded. His independence diminished as we got to know each other better. He started following me from room to room everyday, until the very last evening we spent together. I recited this very often, “Stella had a little dog, his name was Buster Boo and everywhere that Stella went, Buster went there too.”
His yearly checkups were excellent, until 2025. His blood work came back with issues. I took him to University of Florida, had tests run and also to Blue Pearl, in Clearwater. Both facilities ran numerous tests and the end result was heartbreaking. My Buster was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. His values kept going up, no matter what they did. He was hospitalized a total of 4 times between UF and Blue Pearl within a month. After his final hospital stay at Blue Pearl, his blood work came back good. Both his doctor and I were elated. I was asked to bring him back to check his blood work in a couple of days just to make sure all was still okay. His numbers were the highest they had ever been. He refused to eat his special diet and after so much work and believing for the best, his doctor said there was no more that could be done. His veterinarian, Dr. Murray was so very attentive, loving and kind. The entire Blue Pearl staff treated him as their own. I feel blessed, that I entrusted my Buster with them.
On Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 at approximately 11:10 am, I held my sweet boy in my arms, and he was put to rest. My sorrow cannot be defined.
Thank you Clearwater, Blue Pearl for being so kind to Buster. The doctors and the staff were wonderful. Also, thank you to everyone who read Buster’s story. Wishing you and your beloved companions health and happiness!
The money raised to honor Buster will go to our local police canines, who put their lives in jeopardy to protect all of us! Thank you for reading Buster’s story and for your support.
Enjoy your blessings,
Buster and Stella
